I agree with you post that Wyatt and Steffy would be hot together. I like him and hope, but she is a total bitch to him and is doing what Lame did. She's a total hypocrite. What if she decided she wanted Wyatt and showed up at his place only to find him with steffy and he closes the door in her face? I would love to see that.
I can see Wyatt and Steffy absolutely haaaaaaaaaating each other to begin with. But there is a fine line between love and hate, and… they could be so epic together.
So the first two books in the new Momentum Bold and the Beautiful novella tie ins are going to be by romance authors Shannon Curtis and Amy Andrews, who are both awesome.
Shannon Curtis will bring us Collision Course, which sees a major disaster forming from the rubble of a sudden disaster. Here’s the blurb:
Bill can’t get the plane crash out of his head.
Flashbacks and nightmares plague his sleep, and his only escape is a bottle of Scotch.
He’s fooled everyone with his bravado everyone except Taylor, who realizes he has post-traumatic stress disorder.
She tricks him into accompanying her to a PTSD clinic and, slowly, Bill begins to see that he needs Taylor’s help.
Brooke is furious they are spending so much time together. How dare Bill confide in Taylor, not her!
For Bill is finding Taylor a woman who seems to be his antithesis generous and loving.
But can Taylor ever trust Bill with her heart?
Interesting! It’ll be awesome to have Taylor figuring again in the narrative - which is obviously impossible in the show at the mo, given that Hunter Tylo has left the show.
And Amy Andrews will bring us Forbidden Affair, which focuses on the greatest ever relationship to ever involve a Spencer. The blurb:
Steffy is back.
A year in Paris has cemented her resolve to get over Liam and her miscarriage. Resigning from Forrester Creations is her first step.
She is surprised when Bill offers her a job as head of marketing and PR at Eye On Fashion. Is this what she wants?
Hoping to convince her it is, Bill joins her volunteering at Daisy’s.
They are alone, late at night, when an earthquake strikes, and the building collapses around them.
Frightened and trapped in the rubble, they become closer, and Steffy realizes she’s falling in love with the last man she should.
But is this an attraction borne from fear, or is it something much deeper?
As you all know, Steffy is my OMG FAVOURITE CHARACTER EVER, so I am super excited about this. I do have a Tumblr tag called “steffy and bill need to get together like immediately”, so this is obvs right up my alley.
Also, can I point out just how much I love that one book is about Bill hooking up with Taylor, and one is about him hooking up with her daughter? That is pure soapie gold.
(And also quite cool narrative mirroring - remember how Rick hooked up with Taylor AND Steffy AND Phoebe a while back?)
I am so excited for these novellas like you would not believe!
So this is officially the COOLEST THING EVER. Momentum, the digital publisher that I write my weekly Bold recaps for, is putting out a series of tie-in novellas next year! Written by some really badass romance authors!
So, guess what? I am now an official Professional Writer Who Writes About Bold And The Beautiful. (Sadly not a Professional Writer Who Writes Bold And The Beautiful, but give it time.) I’ve started writing a weekly recap for Momentum Moonlight. You can check out the first one here.
(If you’re in the States, it’s a weekly recap of stuff that happened three months ago for you, but whatever! still fun!)
One day, I am totally going to write a paper drawing on the theory of Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick called, “Keeping it in the family: the incestuous architecture of the homosocial bond in love triangles on Bold and the Beautiful”.
I have mixed feelings about this. The negative, obviously… Ronn Moss was iconic, you know? It’s so hard to imagine someone else playing Ridge. He was just… Ridge.
(True story: there was a campaign about five or six years back to make Ronn Moss Australian of the Year. He’s not Australian or anything - he’s just super beloved here in the antipodes.)
The positives, however, outweigh the negatives - I think, anyway. This Brooke/Bill storyline is vomitous, and the only way it can possibly become interesting is by the reintroduction of Ridge. This will shake things up and shake things down in a big, exciting, bold way.
And if they were to recast Taylor while they’re at it and bring her back - as Ridge’s current paramour - I don’t think it would hurt any. And hey! maybe they went to Morocco and came across a mysterious girl with an uncanny resemblance to their dead daughter…
(Hey Bold, I’m available and you should hire me. Just saying.)
Bold, I don’t want you to think I didn’t catch your little homage to Romeo and Juliet (“See how she leans her cheek upon her hand! / O, that I were a glove upon that hand / That I might touch that cheek!”), because I did.
But Wyatt is in his brother’s house, propositioning his brother’s girlfriend. SUPER CREEPERSVILLE.
